Find Jess....find Jess...who was Jess..? These thoughts bounced around during in your mind as you gripped the steering wheel tightly as you drive down the back roads. You had an idea in your head and just had to try....Jax needed your help and you bowed her that much.
It had been 3 hours since Jax was taken by those men. You've spent the last 2 hours being questioned by men in suits about her. Where did you meet? How long ago did you meet her? Did you know her previously to this meeting? You lied and told them you had stumbled across her in the back of the hospital earlier that night and assumed she was injured, the darkness stopping you from seeing her appearance. Your parents backed you up on this and explained you had just brought her in, which, wasn't all that much if a lie.
So now, here you were, driving down the road where you had nearly run Jax down on. You were currently looking for that particular spot. Why? Because Jax had told you she was leaving town. Maybe if you could figure out where exactly she was heading, you could find whoever you needed to. It was a shot in the dark, but what else could you do? It's not like Jax had given you an address or something.
Spotting a familiar tree, you slowed down, glancing at your surroundings until you came across a familiar tree that you had seen when you hit Jax. Bringing the car to a stop, you pulled over and got out, looking around the area before leaning against the hood of your car, pulling your phone out. You accessed Google maps and let it lock onto your position so you could have a birds eye view of the area.
Getting down to business, you moved across the screen, going in the direction Jax was walking. You went over 6 different neighborhoods before seeing nothing but a field of green, or better yet, a forest. Biting your lip, you looked in its direction, wondering if that was where she was going.
It was your best option.
Getting back in your car, you set the phone on the passenger seat and began driving, heading to the forest as fast as your car could go. If you could get there fast, you could figure out what else you could do.
Thankfully for you, part of the hehe forest was actually part of a forest preserve, meaning there were a few parking lots for you to stop in. You grabbed your phone and a small switch blade you had gotten for the hehehe Fuck of it and got out, walking over to the hehehehe forest.
The front of the park was a basic family stop, with a few shelters set up for parties and a children's playground off to the side that had a few slides and swings. You noticed the swings had one inhabitant who was sitting there, barely moving. Probably just some teen who didn't want to go home.
Shaking yourself from your thoughts, you moved forward, looking around the dark forest for God knows what. You didn't even know if this is where she was going! For all you knew she was supposed to go the opposite direction but just had to make another stop, or was just crossing the road for the Fuck of it.
You found a dirt path, leading you down into the depths of the forest and away from the lights of the street. The forest gave you the creeps. Not even the light of the moon could puncture the thick canopy of the trees, shrouding you in darkness. Maybe this is why horror movies always take place at night...the night was just...at whole lot of nope. But still, you told yourself to just go forward some more and figure out something along the way.
Maybe if this didn't work you'd just...try the next direction, or maybe go further down the road...? No...that wouldn't do much...all she gave you was a name....hell, maybe you could just drive around and wait until you hit this 'Jess' with your car. Nah...if she was anything like Jess you'd probably wind up dead...
"You know the park closes at sun down...right?" A low female voice asked behind you.
